Friends & Family Sale

I apologize for not posting this sooner, but better late than never!  Today marks the final day for Bloomingdale’s Friends & Family sale – one of my favorite sales of the year.  The majority of the site is 25% off and if an item is excluded, then you get a $25 reward card for each $100 you spend.  It’s fantastic!

frame denim

I was good this year and limited myself to only a couple of pieces.  These Frame white jeans were a must have.  I have a pair of white Citizens jeans that I love, but I am obsessed with the distressed denim trend so I just had to get a pair in white!  These pants also come in a dark wash which I was tempted to also buy, but again, I am trying to be good.

I have been dying for the Madeworn Rolling Stones tee, but I just can’t bring myself to spend that much on a t-shirt when there are so many other things on my wish list.  Luckily, I found this Daydreamer shirt that looks almost exactly like the Madeworn version (minus the studs).

I didn’t buy this Olivaceous top, but it’s patiently waiting in my shopping cart.  It may or may not end up in my closet by the end of the week!  Olivaceous is one of my favorite brands, but it’s super difficult to find in stores.  This top is so cute and would be perfect for a night out in the Summer.  Ughhhh, it really is so hard to reel myself in!

I highly recommend you head over to Bloomingdale’s right now and check out this sale.  It doesn’t get much better than 25% off!

Time to Tan

As I mentioned in my last post, it can be challenging to get dressed during Spring.  The weather is so up and down that you never know what to wear.  On the days that the sun is shining and it feels like Summer, I instantly reach for a dress or some shorts.  However, I personally feel super insecure wearing such clothes without a tan.  I have the type of skin that can get nice and dark, but I also lose my tan super quick.  By the end of Winter, I am as pale as a ghost.  Last year, I discovered San Tropez self tanner and I do not know how I ever survived without it in my life.

I have tried tanning beds and spray tans, but I am not a fan of either.  This tanning mousse is easy as pie and you can control how much color you want.  However, I must tell you how imperative it is that you follow the directions.

I always exfoliate the day before and I always lather my body in Kiehls Creme de Corps immediately prior to application.  Once my lotion has set in, I apply San Tropez all over my body.  It takes me about five minutes to work from neck to toe.  I make sure every inch is evenly covered and that it has all been rubbed in, to avoid any streaks. Then once I am finished, I awkwardly walk around the house naked for a good ten minutes so that it has enough time to set!

I recommend starting slowly with self tanner to avoid an unnatural look.  I have applied it once a week for the past few weeks and have gradually achieved a bit of color.  I certainly do not look like I just got back from a vacation, but I am now confident enough to wear my favorite new shorts on the beach!

The Best OTK Boots

I have wanted a great pair of over-the-knee boots since my freshman year of college (2009). I first bought a cheap pair from Marshalls and I now look back at those pictures and cringe. While I was ahead of the trend with my grey suede boots, the fit was horrible and they were way too loose around my chicken legs.

It was about two years ago that I discovered the Stuart Weitzman Lowland boots. I would spend hours on Instagram and Pinterest looking at the different ways to style them and trying to decide which color I wanted the most. Of all the many OTK boots on the market, there are only a handful of designers that have the fit down perfectly.  I have toothpick legs that swim in most boots I try on and look very silly . Not only do these hug my legs just right, they are actually comfortable!

These boots are definitely a splurge but the quality is unmatched.  I have another pair of Stuart Weitzman boots that are over 10 years old and they still look great. You can style these over a pair of skinny jeans or with a mini dress – they look great with anything. I am hoping to add a black pair to my closet for next Fall but I am torn between the black leather Lowland boots and the black suede Tieland.

If you don’t like the tie back detail on the Stuart Weitzman boots then the Jimmy Choo Myren boot is another great option. The fit is amazing and the quality is excellent. I’m actually considering getting a pair for myself if I don’t end up with the leather Lowland boots!

Even if you don’t think OTK boots are for you, they look good on everyone. They are my favorite purchase of 2016 and I never want to take them off. Go ahead and treat yourself, you deserve it!

Need to Know Designers

One of the reasons why I wanted to start a blog was because so many blogs out there today are all posting the same stuff over and over and over. There are countless designers around the world that don’t get any recognition because the big brand companies are stealing all of your attention. So today I am sharing with you four of my favorite designers that you need in your closet.

Madeworn is an L.A. based company, founded by Blaine Halvorson, that makes the coolest vintage t-shirts. My favorite is their Rolling Stones studded tee. Pair it with some One Teaspoon cut offs and a pair of Schutz sandals and you’ve got yourself your go-to Summer outfit.

Andi Bagus

Trust me when I tell you that you will want everything from Andi Bagus. I am not sure how they haven’t taken over the world yet, but I have a feeling they are on their way. All of their products are handmade in Bali and the prices are beyond reasonable. A few of their pieces were featured in this years Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, so I imagine you’ll start to see a lot more of them in the social media world. Everything comes in a variety of colors and some tops are reversible in the coolest way. I definitely recommend that you check out their Instagram page so you can see how awesome their stuff is! If you see me on the beach this Summer, I’ll be decked out in Andi Bagus.

Réalisation Par

Réalisation Par makes the most feminine and fun tops and dresses. If you check out their IG page, you’ll see stars from Bella Hadid to Rocky Barnes looking fabulous in their clothes. I am beyond obsessed with The Goldie dress. You could pair it with a great pair of booties for the Spring or some OTK boots in the Fall. There is nothing better than a dress that you can wear year round!

Sir the Label

Sir the Label is a brand based in Australia – the epicenter of beachy chic. I would take one of everything from their collection. If you are looking for a great dress for a Summertime party, look no further. Or if you just want a great date night outfit, then you must check them out. Imagine wearing this beautiful white dress with a killer tan and your favorite Summer heels – ughhhh can it be Summer already!?

I hope you love these designers as much as I do!
