Summer is here and I could not be happier! Spending the day on the beach, soaking up the sunshine, and floating through the waves will forever be a perfect day to me. Ever since I was a baby I have spent my Summers by the sea. So, naturally, every year I struggle with balancing my work life with my beach life. Whenever I get a day off I am conflicted with either running errands all day and staying at home to write a blog post or throwing on a bikini and heading to the beach! Of course the latter is always more appealing.
However, when I choose to spend my free time soaking up the sun, I usually feel guilty for not staying home to work out and do my laundry and all of my other not-so-fun errands. Especially when it comes to blogging. Although I may not be posting on here everyday, I put a lot of time and effort into my Instagram. Since I can manage my IG from anywhere, it makes it easier to balance my full-time job with maintaining my “IG profile”. Blogging, on the other hand, requires me to be at home working from my desktop. It also takes a lot more time to write a blog post than it does to post a picture of my outfit on Instagram.
I will probably always struggle with balancing work and play because of my personality and the immense amount of pressure I put on myself to be the best at what I do. It is hard to make time for fun when you also want to work out six days a week, maintain a daily IG profile, write a blog multiple times a week, have a full-time job, have date night with Rob, and maintain a clean home.
I have a ton of respect for all of the women out there that are doing all of this on top of raising a family – I completely understand the lack of sleep that moms are always talking about!! So basically what I am trying to say is that I want to do it all but I still want to enjoy my life along the way. I just don’t know how to have both… yet!
