Button-ups… where do I start?  Truthfully, I have never been much of a fan of the classic buttoned-up collared shirt.  They always feel so rigid, like they’re meant for a board room.  I also spent the majority of my life in private school – where a button-up was a mandatory part of my wardrobe.  So, the moment I graduated, I tossed all the button-ups in my closet and never looked back!  Well, that is until Something Navy did a collaboration with Nordstrom and, VOILÀ!,  the ultimate button-up was born.

Arielle Charnas, of Something Navy, is my favorite blogger and she has definitely been such an inspiration for me.  I mean, come on, not only has she amassed over a million followers, but also, she was asked to create a capsule collection for Nordstrom – that is beyond amazing!  So, naturally, I wanted to get my hands on something from this collaboration.

When I saw this button-up, which also comes in a light blue and white pinstripe, I was instantly drawn to it, much to my surprise. Seriously, I never get excited over a button-up. I am not sure wether it was the oversized boyfriend feel of the shirt or the awesome bell sleeves, but this shirt was screaming ‘effortless chic’ and I knew I had to have it!  I have already worn it twice, and I haven’t even had it for a week.  You can dress it up, as I did in the pictures above, or you can pair it with your favorite skinnies and some OTK boots for a great daytime look.  The possibilities are endless!
